Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has set a date for the third phone in its K100 family. In a Weibo post on Monday, the company said the standard Redmi K100 will launch in China on 27 October at 19:00 local time (11:00 UTC), and pre-reservations are open. Gadgets 360 and 91mobiles have summarised what Redmi has shown so far. Here is what is confirmed, and what is not.

A launch date ahead of Singles' Day

The K100 joins the recently launched K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max. Redmi tagged the announcement with Xiaomi's Singles' Day (11.11) sales campaign, so the phone is timed for China's biggest shopping period.

Snapdragon 8 Elite plus a separate gaming chip

Redmi confirms the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm's flagship chip from late 2024, not the newest generation. Next to it sits Xiaomi's D2 graphics chip, which Redmi pitches as a first for a standard (non-Pro) K-series phone. According to 91mobiles, Redmi says the D2 cuts average power draw by 1.1 W in Honor of Kings at ultra settings and 144 fps.

A 6.83-inch 165Hz flat display

The screen is a flat 6.83-inch panel with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and a centred punch-hole camera. Redmi claims native 165 fps in more than 40 games and frame interpolation in over 100.

A battery Redmi calls '10,000-class'

Redmi's teaser promises "10,000-class" battery life and the best endurance in its price band. Several outlets report a 10,000mAh cell, which would be a first for a Xiaomi phone, but Redmi has not yet published the exact capacity or charging speeds.

Bose-tuned speakers and a green finish

The back carries "Sound by Bose" branding. The phone has a flat metal frame, a horizontal camera bar with two cameras, and at least one new colour, Fluorescent Green. Gadgets 360 says it will run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

What is still unknown

Price, memory, cameras and charging. One earlier report put the starting price at about CNY 3,500, but that is unofficial. There is no word on a global version yet.

Big batteries are this autumn's theme: the iQOO Neo 12 arrives a day later with 9,000mAh, and Honor's Win RT 2 goes even bigger. To refill a cell that size quickly, the right USB-C charger matters.
