Nintendo's October 2026 Indie World showcase was short but packed: around two dozen independent games for Switch and Switch 2, a long-awaited release date and a couple of surprise ports. Here are the highlights, based on GameSpot's round-up and the dates the developers have confirmed.
The big ones
- Witchbrook – the cosy witch-school life sim from Chucklefish finally has a date: January 28, 2027. The developer confirmed the date separately for PC and consoles.
- Sword of the Sea – the award-winning hover-sword adventure, previously on PS5, reaches Switch 2 on October 29, so tomorrow.
- REPO – the online co-op horror game for up to six players that went viral on Steam is coming to Switch in 2027.
- Slime Rancher 2 – lands on Switch 2 in January 2027.
- Spirit Crossing – a social life sim from the makers of Cozy Grove, out November 16.
Dated for 2027
- Super Battle Golf (multiplayer golf) – Switch 2, March 25, 2027
- My Arms Are Longer Now (2D stealth comedy with a very long arm) – Switch 2, March 11, 2027
- Dumpster Gang (raccoon co-op chaos) – March 2027
- Haunted Paws (two dogs rescue their owner) – May 2027
- Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino (3D folklore adventure) – spring 2027
- Threads of Time (classic-style RPG) – summer 2027
- City of None (platformer from a Celeste co-creator), Tenjutsu (action roguelike) – 2027
Coming sooner
Raccoin: Chaos Max Edition and Tanuki: Pon's Summer both arrive on November 10. Winds of Viridia, out in early 2027, has a playable demo on the Switch 2 eShop today.
Our take
Indie World remains the best way to discover smaller games on Nintendo's hardware, and this one leaned heavily on co-op titles that suit couch play on one console. If you're planning a lot of local multiplayer this winter, an extra pair of controllers is worth budgeting for – our game controller buying guide explains what matters. Switch 2 owners short on space should also read our explainer on microSD Express cards, the only type of card the console accepts.
