One of the most family-friendly LEGO games has a new home. Warner Bros. Games, TT Games and the LEGO Group say LEGO Harry Potter Collection is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, with a suggested price of $49.99. It launched on 16 October.
What's in the box
The collection bundles two games that together cover all eight films:
- LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 covers Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire.
- LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 covers Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and both parts of Deathly Hallows.
Every previously released DLC pack is included. The Character Pack adds Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin, Peeves, Harry (Yule Ball), Hermione (Pink Dress), Lockhart (Straitjacket), Luna (Lion Head) and Ron Weasley (Ghoul). The Spell Pack adds five extra spells: Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors.
The games themselves are the familiar mix of puzzle-solving, spell-casting, potion-brewing and plenty of humour, ending in the showdown with Voldemort.
Who made the port
TT Games developed the original games and Warner Bros. Games publishes them. The Switch 2 version was ported by Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. Warner's announcement doesn't list technical improvements such as resolution or frame rate, so we won't guess.
Physical vs digital: read the label
You can buy the collection digitally or as a boxed copy. According to Warner, the physical edition includes both games on one key card. On Switch 2, a game-key card doesn't hold the full game: it acts as a licence key, and the game data downloads when you first insert it. Keep that in mind if you have slow internet or want a copy that works offline years from now. It's the same ownership debate behind the proposed Power to the Players Act.
It's a busy season for Switch 2 ports: Capcom's Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes landed the same day, and 007 First Light is dated for March 2027.
