Samsung Health Sleep Coaching now starts after three nights, Running Coach gets 12 levels
Samsung Health's update cuts Sleep Coaching's start requirement to three nights, adds a Sleep Balance chart, two new Running Coach tiers and Strava Routes import.

Samsung is lowering the bar for its Sleep Coaching program in Samsung Health. Until now you needed seven nights of tracked sleep within a month before the app would build a plan. With the update announced on 14 October, three nights within the past two weeks are enough.
How the new Sleep Coaching works
Setup starts with a short survey about how regular your sleep is, how often you wake up, how much caffeine and alcohol you have, and how satisfied you are with your sleep. Samsung combines those answers with your tracked nights, gives you one of its "Sleep Animal" profiles and builds a four- to eight-week program. The plan changes week by week as your sleep and habits change.
The daily advice is simple behaviour stuff: put screens away an hour before bed, skip late coffee, get outside and stretch after waking. Samsung says the program follows principles of behavioural sleep science.
The reports are getting a visual refresh too. A new pentagon-shaped Sleep Balance graph brings together five indicators: sleep time, sleep regularity, time awake during the night, sleep satisfaction and Energy Score. Morning messages review the previous night and tie into the weekly and final reports.
Running Coach: two more levels and Strava Routes
Running Coach now has 12 training tiers instead of 10, and the new levels are aimed at intermediate and advanced runners. Your starting level still comes from a 12-minute running test or your past running data. There are new share-ready templates for posting workouts and personal records on social media, and you can import Strava Routes for running, trail running and cycling straight into Samsung Health.
What you need
- Sleep Coaching: Samsung Health 6.24 or later on a Galaxy phone with Android 11+, plus a Galaxy Watch4 or newer, Galaxy Fit3 or newer, or Galaxy Ring.
- Running Coach: Samsung Health 6.30.2 or later, Android 10+, a Samsung account and a Galaxy Watch8 series or newer.
- Strava integration is not offered in some countries, including Russia, parts of Ukraine, China and South Korea.
Samsung says the features roll out through app updates starting in October, and timing will vary by market and device. As always with wellness scores, Samsung notes the Energy Score is for personal reference, not medical use.
