OnePlus has turned its teased cooling fan into a finished product. The company launched the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro in China at its October event, two gaming-focused phones that pair very large batteries with active cooling, Gadgets 360 reports.

What both phones share

  • Display: 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,272 × 2,772) AMOLED, up to 185Hz, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness, 3,840Hz PWM dimming.
  • Battery: 9,000mAh with 100W wired charging.
  • Main camera: 200MP f/1.8 with optical image stabilisation; 16MP selfie camera; video up to 8K at 30fps.
  • Cooling: OnePlus's "Dual-Path Glacier Air-Cooling" system, the fan design we covered when OnePlus first teased its two-way airflow.
  • Durability: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.
  • Other: LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.

Both measure 162.3 × 77.37 × 8.59 mm; the Ace 7 weighs about 223 g and the Pro about 225 g.

What's different

The Ace 7 Pro runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and adds a 50MP telephoto camera. The Ace 7 uses the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V and pairs the main camera with an 8MP ultrawide.

OnePlus hasn't announced a global release. Android Authority and others speculate that the Ace 7 could reach other markets as the OnePlus 16R, but OnePlus hasn't confirmed that.

Batteries this large in phones under 9 mm thick have become common largely thanks to silicon-carbon cells; our silicon-carbon battery explainer explains how they work, and our guide on whether fast charging harms your battery covers what 100W charging means long term.
