If you own a Samsung phone or tablet from the last few years, you now have a clearer idea of whether One UI 9, Samsung's skin based on Android 17, is coming to it. Samsung has published an official list of devices due for the update, as 9to5Google reports.

One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy S26 series in September and has since spread to older models, including the stable rollout for the Galaxy S23 in Europe.

The confirmed list

The list comes from Samsung Japan, so it reflects Japanese models. The device line-up should broadly apply worldwide, but the dates are for Japan only.

Phones

  • Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24, S24 Ultra and S24 FE
  • Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36 and A25

Tablets

  • Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S10, S10+ and S10 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE and S10 FE+
  • Galaxy Tab S10 Lite
  • Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+
  • Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)
  • Galaxy Tab A11 and Tab A11+ / 5G
  • Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro

What the list does not tell you

This is not the complete global list. Because it is Japan-specific, some obvious models are missing, such as the "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships (for example the S25+ and S24+), along with many Galaxy A phones sold elsewhere. Their absence here does not mean they are dropped.

Timing will also differ by country and carrier. Samsung says the Japanese updates land during October and November 2026, and 9to5Google expects the global rollout to keep going after that, with many budget devices likely updated around December and January.

How to check for the update

On your Galaxy, open Settings → Software update → Download and install. Before a big version jump, back up your phone and make sure you have enough free storage and battery. If you are holding off for reports from other owners, that is sensible too: Samsung's recent updates have had teething problems, such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra setup bug. Tablet owners should also note that the Galaxy Tab S9 series is on its final major Android update.
