Hello Games says No Man's Sky is coming to iPhone and iPad on 28 October. Studio co-founder Sean Murray calls it the full game, not a lite cut — with more than forty major updates, including recent Cosmos and last year's Voyagers starship-building update.

Devices and size

The port targets a wide range of hardware: iPhone 11 and newer, and iPad Air (3rd generation) and newer. Because the universe is generated on device, the download comes in at under 4GB.

Hello rebuilt touch controls from scratch and also supports controllers, TV casting, and mouse and keyboard on iPad. Murray highlights battery life and thermals for long sessions.

Limits at launch

As with the original Switch release, some features are held back at first:

  • Multiplayer is not supported at launch.
  • Planetary Settlements need iPhone 15 Pro and above.

Murray says Hello will expand iOS support based on feedback and player numbers, as it did on Switch and Switch 2.

Price and pre-order

Pre-orders are open on the App Store as part of Indie Games Week. The game will be free to try at launch; third-party reports put the full unlock around $19.99, though Hello's own post emphasises the free trial rather than a final store price.
