HONOR has announced the X9e Pro, the first Pro model in its durability-focused X series. The press release, dated 14 October in Dubai, describes it as an "upcoming launch". Prices and exact market dates are not out yet.
Built to survive drops and water
Durability is the main pitch. HONOR says the X9e Pro survives drops of up to 3 metres thanks to a new 360-degree shock-absorbing structure, and it carries an SGS five-star rating for drop resistance in harsh conditions. It is rated IP69K, can be submerged down to 10 metres (HONOR even promotes underwater photos), and withstands splashes of hot water up to 85°C. As HONOR's own footnote admits, any phone can still break if dropped.
11,000 mAh battery
The battery has a typical capacity of 11,000 mAh (rated at 10,510 mAh). HONOR quotes up to three days of use in its own mixed-use test and says the battery was validated at temperatures up to 50°C. Charging tops out at 80W with HONOR's charger and cable. 27W reverse wired charging lets the phone top up other devices. HONOR's lab estimate is more than 80% capacity retained after five years of typical use.
Display and camera
- 6.8-inch 1.5K display at up to 120Hz, with peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits and a 1-nit dark mode for night use.
- Touch input that works with gloves or wet fingers.
- 108MP main camera with combined OIS and EIS, plus an underwater colour-correction mode.
Software and AI
The phone uses Google Gemini for its assistant features. It also gets HONOR's AI FreeGrip, which detects which hand you are holding the phone in and moves on-screen controls to that side, and Creative Editor 2.0 for photo and video edits. HONOR has not named the chipset, RAM or storage options in this announcement.
Colours
The X9e Pro comes in four colours: Deep Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black. Regional pricing should follow at local launches.
