The new 2D Castlevania is two days away. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse comes out on 15 October on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Who's making it
Konami is publishing the game with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the teams behind Dead Cells. Their earlier Return to Castlevania DLC for Dead Cells has already shown that they know the series well.
Editions and price
- Standard: $29.99.
- Midnight Edition: $39.99. It adds a digital soundtrack and art gallery, Trevor and Sypha costumes and the Family's Grace relic.
- Pre-order bonus: any edition comes with an Alucard-style costume.
On Steam the game unlocks at 04:00 UTC on launch day, which is 07:00 Kyiv time.
Why it matters
This is the first all-new Castlevania game in years, rather than a remaster collection. Choosing proven indie action studios and a $30 price suggests Konami is aiming for a tight, replayable game rather than a sprawling one. We will cover reviews as they arrive.
