Planet Zoo 2 launches today on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
Frontier’s sequel is live from 15:00 BST on 13 October 2026, with aquatic and flying species, GeForce NOW day-one support and a free-to-try path via pre-order bonuses already closed at launch.

Planet Zoo 2 is out. Frontier Developments unlocked the sequel at 15:00 BST on 13 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the same start time on NVIDIA GeForce NOW.
What’s new
Frontier has pitched Planet Zoo 2 as a “wilder world,” expanding beyond the first game’s terrestrial focus to include aquatic and flying species alongside classic zoo management. The studio’s earlier marketing also highlighted larger habitats and reserve-style layout tools; exact species lists and system requirements are on the official store pages.
Platforms and preload
Pre-loads were available on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation for pre-order customers before launch. Anyone who pre-ordered before the unlock time received the Bonus Content Pack (Toucan Eat Shop and signage, three animal donation bins and a tiger photo stand-in wall). That bonus window closed at launch.
Cloud play
Frontier confirmed day-one availability on GeForce NOW, so players without a local install can stream the game if they have a compatible subscription and store entitlement.
Our take
Management sims live or die on long-session tools and animal behaviour depth. Launch-day patch notes and the first week of player habitat shares will say more about whether Planet Zoo 2’s new biomes feel like a sequel or a DLC-sized expansion.
