Opel debuts STX Concept estate and its 800+ hp GSE 27FE Formula E car
Opel premiered two cars in Paris: the electric STX Concept estate and the GSE 27FE, its first Formula E car for the GEN4 era, with all-wheel drive and up to 700 kW of regeneration.

Opel brought two world premieres to the Paris Motor Show, which runs until 18 October. One is a design study and the other is a race car.
STX Concept
The STX Concept shows where Opel's design is heading, using an electric estate as the example. It has a bolder version of the brand's "Vizor" front, aerodynamic wheels and diffuser elements, all-wheel drive and a top speed above 200 km/h. Opel has not said whether it will build it.
GSE 27FE: Opel goes Formula E racing
The second car marks a bigger step for the brand. The GSE 27FE is Opel's car for its first season in the FIA Formula E World Championship. It is built to the new GEN4 rules and appeared in Paris in its final black, silver and yellow livery. Opel's headline figures:
- permanent all-wheel drive, new in Formula E with GEN4;
- more than 800 hp at peak;
- up to 700 kW of regenerative braking.
Why it matters
Opel is using motorsport to promote its electric GSE sub-brand. Formula E is the obvious stage for that, because the regenerative braking and efficiency lessons from racing apply directly to road EVs.
