The two-seat smart #2 returns as an EV, debuting at the Paris Motor Show
smart has revived its original city-car formula: a 2.75-metre, two-seat electric #2 with up to 290 km of WLTP range. Early ordering in Europe started straight after the premiere.

smart used the Paris Motor Show on 12 October to bring back the car that made the brand famous. The new smart #2 is a two-seat city car again, and this time it is fully electric.
Small on purpose
The #2 is about 2.75 m long, so it keeps the original idea of a car that parks nose-to-kerb where others cannot. According to smart, a 35.8 kWh battery feeds a 60 kW motor at the rear, and the car is rated for up to 290 km on the WLTP cycle. DC fast charging from 10 to 80% takes roughly 20 minutes.
Trims and ordering
Europe gets four versions: Pure, Pure+, Premium and a limited Couture Edition. China gets Premium and Couture only. smart says each market will set its own prices. In Europe the early-ordering window opened right after the premiere, and full online ordering and deliveries are planned for the first half of 2027.
Why it matters
Small, affordable EVs are a hot category again in Europe. The Paris show also brought the Citroën 2 CV Concept, but the #2 is the more compact of the two. Range is modest for a car that can also leave town, but for a two-seater mostly used in cities it should be plenty.
LandGadget will add pricing as each European market publishes it.
