Citroën 2 CV Concept previews a ~€15,000 electric city car for 2028
Citroën revived the 2 CV name with a 3.76-metre electric concept. A production version made in Europe is due within two years, with a target price of around €15,000.

On the evening before the Paris Motor Show, Stellantis unveiled six concept cars. The one that drew the most attention was the Citroën 2 CV Concept, an electric take on the "umbrella on wheels" from 1948.
The numbers so far
- Length: 3.76 m, a little longer than a modern supermini.
- Powertrain: fully electric.
- Target price: around €15,000.
- Production: built in Europe, with a production model expected within two years, so around 2028.
Stellantis frames the car as an answer to Europe's planned rules for small, affordable "E-Cars". Citroën also showed a 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept, a small van that brings back the corrugated look of the original delivery version.
Why we're watching it
If it really arrives at about €15,000, the 2 CV will be one of the cheapest electric cars built in Europe. It would compete directly with the Renault Twingo and the electric Dacia models. Battery size and range have not been announced yet. Those numbers will decide whether the car is only for town or can work as an only car.
